When he was young, he was a construction worker, this experience gave him the opportunity to meet up and make friends with different ethnic groups. Mr. Teo Choo Guan has received various recognitions due to his contributions as listed below: the International Tara award in 2013, the honorary Master from Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University in 2016, Pillar of Asoka award in 2018, Gold Phra PathomChedi award in 2019, Sweden World Peace award in 2019 (the first Malaysian to receive this honorary award), "Golden Tripod Award on Global Chinese Role Model" and "China 70th Anniversary Special Contributors Award on Global Buddhism Contribution Award. In addition, Waki International Group has also received on "Global Enterprise Outstanding Contribution Award”.
Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University is one of the oldest Buddhist University in Thailand and recognized and accepted by Inernational Educational Organisations. The university was founded in 1887 by King Chulalongkorn. The university is a highly acclaimed public University in Thailand.
